We are a small, patient-centered, full service optometry office. We manage a variety of eye conditions including cataracts, dry eye, keratoconus, lazy eyes and offer routine and emergent eye exams.
We pride ourselves on spending extra time with each patient to get to know them and their unique eye care needs. We take care of patients of all ages from very young children to their great grandparents and everyone in between!

Both doctors spend a great deal of time with your exam to ensure that your eyes receive the correct prescription for contacts or glasses. Free contact trials are offered and, if not exactly right for you, a follow up visit at no charge is provided complete with other possible contact brands and trials. If other medical care is needed such as cataract surgery, Dr. Farmer will refer you to another excellent specialist. When I needed cataract surgery this year, she referred me to the surgeon who performed her own surgery. My surgery has provided me with new eyes; can drive without contacts or glasses for the first time in years. You can count on both Dr. Farmer and Dr. Abuharb to really care for you.

In her spare time Dr. Farmer enjoys spending time with her husband, her two teenage daughters, playing with her dogs, and cooking a good meal!

Dr. Farmer graduated with honors from The University of Texas Health Science Center with a degree in Cytotechnology. She subsequently worked at Memorial Herman Hospital in the department of pathology as a cytotechnologist. She then went on to graduate from The University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO) with honors. After graduation she furthered her education with the Low Vision Rehabilitation Residency at UHCO. Since 2002 she enjoyed working at Master Eye Associates in primary care optometry. There she honed her skills in specialty contact lens fittings and the treatment of ocular pathology. Dr. Farmer’s passion is in taking care of the complete person while truly listening to the patients’ needs.

Dr Abuharb is a mom of two young kids who enjoy playing outside and enjoying the beach and mountains any chance they get.

Dr Abuharb is a Therapeutic Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She’s spent most of her life in Houston, TX and completed her BA in History at Rice University. She received her Doctorate in Optometry at the University of Houston College of Optometry where she earned clinical letters of excellence and completed rotations in ocular disease, dry eye specialty clinics and an ophthalmology group practice.
Dr Abuharb joined Boutique Eye Care after completing her residency at the Michael E Debakey VA Medical Center in Houston. She then spent 2 years working at Baylor College of Medicine working with patients who have complex corneal issues and need specialty contact lenses. She enjoys fitting custom contact lenses including scleral lenses and RGP lenses, as well as correcting vision for patients who have a history of previous eye surgeries.

Hello! My name is Alexa and I’ve been part of the team at Boutique Eye Care since 2012. I love taking care of our patients and helping to make their appointments go as smoothly as possible. When not in the office you can find me hanging out with my husband, dog and cat, reading a good book, and planning my next adventure. Can’t wait to see you for your eye exam soon!

Our office is located at the corner of Westheimer and Woodhead. The address is 1806 Westheimer, Suite A, Houston, Texas 77098, or see the map below. If for any reason you cannot make your appointment, kindly let us know with 24 hours notice.
Parking is available right in front of our office or in the adjacent parking for the Upper Hand Hair Salon. You may park at the Upper Hand and your car will not be towed. You may also park in front of the Eye Gallery.
